They are original WWI period light duty straps - date 1915 has been "modified" to 1945

Sure they are. Perhaps the seller thought they would be more desired by a potential WWII collector. Go figure, people do all sort of stupid things...for money.

I had this in my collecting room for at least 10 years and I do not recall where I got them
