What Axis branch used this box ?

    Hi,
I have this ammo box, I assume its an ammo box, photos after my text, and wonder what branch of the German Army or other service might have used it. Friends say the eagle is not the usual type. 41inch (104cm) long x 13inch (33cm) wide x 10 inch (25cm) tall approx size. Thats French lettering for case inside, and remnants of a paper label that says AUBIN. Eagle is only found under any damage and has fine fissure cracks appearing in it, so it doesnt appear to have been sprayed over anything. Can anyone enlighten me on what this is. I think it is genuine looking at the paint quality, the apparent genuine eagles etc. The green is over a dull brown base, and bottom of box has no green. I would like to hear your opinions on its usage, etc.
I hope to sell the box after I can describe it !

    Hello
The markings are indeed French , but the insignias look more like something used in a movie .

I agree, this looks like a movie prop or reenactor piece to me.

I agree with the above, never seen an eagle stencil like that before.

Perhaps this box was a raiders of the lost ark knock-off?

          Hi and thanks so far,
Does anyone have pics of what box stencil eagles could or do look like ?
Given the damage is over the eagle and old damage at that, if it is a movie prop, its been around for a while.
Value to sell ...any suggestions ?
          Regards

German ammo boxes were not stenciled with big eagles, the way they are shown in movies.

Any ideas what value I could aim for in selling this item, seeing that it appears to be movie ?
              Cheers
