What are the markings/dates on their backs?
More of these saw service in Russia than North Africa...so I always must ask, why the 'DAK' label?

41 is a hard dated coconut canteen to find - Nice!
I like these canteens a lot, and have a few myself.
No problems with the 'DAK' label - "tropical" would be a more accurate description, but these were general issue.

Is canteen "41" something rare? I have it, canteens cup is Al, no bakelite (is it any difference of 41´s?).Comment
