    Bakelite jar idendification needed.

    Hi all.
Friend wants to know about this jar. It was told to him that it is a LW butterdose.
There are no markings, like found normally on German bakelite containers.
There is one triangle with letters N, K and a "lightning bolt" inside.
And other marking is a circle with
    K
    1610
    1
    inside.

Is it even from WWII?Any thoughts?

Better pictures can be made, if needed, in a few days.

    Thank You.
    Cheers
    K.

It's an early GDR box for electrical wiring tape, nothing to do with Wehrmacht

Sorry for warming up the long dead thread, but I just found a box of chloric tablets which has exactly the same producer's mark: "H arrow K" in triangle. Can anyone identify the company?

I just bought 10 of these "chloric tablet boxes." What was this product used for? Was this an item each soldier carry in his personal effects? Is it like aspirin?

            Thanks,
            Cincylance
PS – are these boxes valuable or desirable?

              Hi Cincylance

These are so called Losantin boxes. If the closing tape and the labels (of course original labels) are present they are worth aprox 25 euro.
Most of these boxes are ground dug and worth between 1 - 3 euro (there are a lot of them

The boxes contained skin decontamination tablets and were issued soldiers (4 boxes per soldier)

              See my homepage http://www.mp44.nl/equipment/skin_decontamination.htm

                Hi all,

at the militaria show of Arlon last sunday a German seller offered a cardboard box (seemed the original packing) full of these bakelite containers. They seemed to be going well, as several collectors I know bought one. Are the doubts raised in the beginning of this thread still valid? It seemes to me that Gnadenlose neutralized the arguments of Tobi1418 by showing a '1940'-dated Losantin box with the same triangular marking... Am I right? IMO not all bakelite pieces used by the Wehrmacht were marked in the 'textbook' way with the well-known Materialprüfungsamt-logo (circular logo with interlaced 'M' an 'P').... The Losantin box is the evidence...

When these containers are really original war-time Luftwaffe or Heer issue, my friends bought nice pieces for a fair price. When they are not... then another lot of junk is poisoning the markets...

                greetings,
                Lucius
