            Hello Guys,

Here's my latest catch. Although i'm mainly a helmet collector this one came along. Imo this zelt has some nice and special colours. Is it a known maker? Looking forward for replies.

Pre - and Last Ditch Production

Time to revive this thread once more.
Those two Zeltbahnen are the latest addition to my collection.

First one is one of the earliest which have ever been produced.
1930 dated, made in the preproduction series by the company "Fröhlich & Wolff" in Kassel. This company, later after it's jewish owners had been expropriated, was known as "Textilwerke Karl Anton Henschel"
Even though this Zeltbahn was heavily used, has approx. 50 or more glued patches, several bigger sewn patches and has several of it's original aluminum buttons replaced by zink buttons, I would still trust it to keep me dry.

                    15 years of Zeltbahn evolution

The second one on the contrary propably was one of the last produced with much inferior quality cloth and with with much less care.
Different types of cloth were used wich results in varying colors and patterns. On the attached edges the camo pattern is rotated by 90 degrees.
It has neither grommets nor buttons (it might not have been finished).

                    15 years of Zeltbahn evolution.

Very very interesting Knoffhoff, first time I have seen a late war 4 panel with the added panels sewn on sideways!

Interesting information about the 1930 manufacturer, it must have been a trial run of the Zeltbahn 31.

                      Both brilliant and rare Zelts!

                      Regards
