GM30 Gas Mask lens replacement

Hello All
I have a M30 gas mask that I am hoping to be able to replace the lenses in the mask. The lenses are discoloured and unclear (I think it is more than just the thin plastic wafer lens that is discoloured). My guess is that the centre of the outer lens ring unscrews. I think the 4 holes in the lens ring is where a tool fits that allows you to unscrew it. On the other hand the inside of the mask looks interesting, some sort of spring retaining device? Anyway, I don’t want to force something that I should not so does anybody know?

you are correct, the lenses can be replaced from the outside !

probably the glass is unclear as well, will be more dificult to find replacements for them.

go to a glaziers with the precise diameter required and im sure theyll cut you a set, ask for the right type of glass.

I would just leave it alone.

Well in this case the old girl will see use again (with an empty filter) so being able to see would be nice to say the least!
