    Laufschutzer - your opinion

    Hi,
Can you help me with this question - this laufschuetzer of period WW2? Why stamp WaA has two letters “A”?
    Regards

Original german item - but reworked in the UdSSR after the war - like all 98k coming from Russia you can buy everywhere in Europe for about 200 Euro.

Original paint removed, then blued, new carry strap added. The same happened to basket drums and basket drums carriers.

For many collectors hard to belive, that the Russians have removed original paint - but technically it is not complicated.

They are flooding the market now - perhaps good for cold war period collectors - but just a crap for WW2 collectors.
    Regards
    Marcin

As far as I know these barrel carriers are coming not from former USSR but from Slovakia or Slovenia. Can you show how original carrier strap looks like? Why they needed to remove original straps? There they not strong enough? Is it fact or just your opinion?

I agree with you on drum carries in ugly soviet color but removing of straps is very doubtful. Take a look here: http://www.germanmilitaria.co.uk/index2.htm Owner of this site shows same barrel carriers.
