    Waffenmeister Barrel Container ???

<p><p><center>Have anyone of you seen this metal container, and know what it was used to ? I have notice that the closure strap on the lid is of late war D-ring model, there are two D-rings witch the container cud be carried with a sling attached. The paint is identical to the green olive color found on MG34 scope containers. Its a around 3,5 or 4 feet long, in heavy construction like spare part containers usually are made!</center><p><p><p><center> <img src=http://www.originalmilitaria.com/images_ebay/g_barrelcase_01.jpg><img src=http://www.originalmilitaria.com/images_ebay/g_barrelcase_04.jpg></center><center><img src=http://www.originalmilitaria.com/images_ebay/g_barrelcase_02.jpg><img src=http://www.originalmilitaria.com/images_ebay/g_barrelcase_03.jpg></center>

    Any suggestions are welcome !

    Iron sight adapter

    Hi Carl
I think your case was originaly for an iron sight adapter for tank or fortress mounted heavy Mgs , the adapter to be used if the optic sight was knocked out , this is why it is such a long case as the adapter had to be the same length as the barrel as these weapons used the heavy Panzer mantle armoured barrel jacket and some of these did not have an iron sight fitted .
