    German Peoples Radio

Hello, anyone seen one of these Deutscher Kleinempfaenger radios around? Known as the DKE model. This one is missing the origional plug, the rear panel and speaker fabric. The bakelite box has several eagle/swas imprints and several similar paper stamps. A very cool item. Best, Bill

It's a nice piece what you have and I'm sure it's not often to find in USA but here in Austria and in Germany we have hundred tousends of them.

Hello, Im glad there are few here and tousends in
Europe. Might make a sale easier here at home. Best, Bill

Very interesting radio. I didn't know they were so common. German eBay has quite a few and it looks like they are selling for around $100 US. I'll have to add one of these to my collection next year. Does anyone know of a web site/book that describes the radio in detail?

I did find this site informative: http://www.antiqueradio.org/KleinempfaengerDKE38.htm

How hard is it to get a radio with original internal components with intact German eagle insignias?

Hello Stinch, thank you for that excellent site. I know little and these pieces were presented to me by an estate broker. Best, Bill Bourque

                    Hello Bill,
I've got a couple of them--the little one (Kleinempfänger) is the most common, and as stated, they're easily obtainable in Germany and sell for about 100.00 in excellent condition. The VE301 is an earlier model that is much less common, and there are variant models that are even more difficult to find.

Hi Erich, nice to hear from you, do your radios work? I just sold mine for $225 to a collector in England and he tells me they are much less common than is stated in Europe and fully functioning ones go for $800. He is a radio restorer and these types are very collectable. Good news for me. Best, Bill

The internals look to be all there and you can buy original backs and speaker cloths on ebay.de
I bought my DKE at a Berlin flea market, last year for a steal!
