Bakelite canteen cup question

A newbie question here. In reguards the black (sometimes other) color bakelite canteen cups, were ALL wartime cups manufaturer marked, or were some unmarked? In addition, is there any way to tell the differece between a wartime unmarked (if any were made) and a postwar unmarked. Thanks for any help here.

Flick a good one with your finger and flick a post-war one with your finger and you can hear the difference in sound. Really, works every time.

Interesting, I will have to try that as soon as I locate a verifiable original. Thanks. BTW, I grew up in Colorado (Canon City) and was stationed in Baumholder.

Hi Johnny:

I just returned a few days ago from Germany. Heidelberg. From Colorado myself too.

The original will will "click" more and the fake will "thunk". Hope that makes sense.
