    1942 Tropical Rucksack

    Hi Team,
I was pleased to pick this pack up cheaply on a local auction site, and was wondering about the two front auxilary straps that are (clearly) missing from this example. How hard are they to find, and (B) what do they look like?
All hardwear on this very nice pack is aluminium/alloy. The pack is quite clearly marked 1942.
Anyhow...I need to find the front straps. Can anyone help out with images of a set from their collection?
Feel free to PM me if you wish. All help will be appreciated
    Regards,
    Mark.

                    Mark !!
its a LW model tropical rucksack - and these front straps are pretty hard to get..
I used to have 2 packs like that - but also no front straps.. - so GOOD luck

                      Thanks Michael,
What does the hardwear look like - clasps, hooks? And is the webbing the same as the shoulder strap weave? I also assume the clips would be alloy?
Thanks for the reply (& you too, of course Laurent!)

                          Brad,
PERFECT! That's exactly what I was after.
                          Thanks ,

                            Hi,

A little off point, but here's my 42' dated rucksack. I've got a large tropical rucksack and a smaller backpack (clothing bag) and both have the webbed stuff and hook-ups for the Y-straps.

Will keep an eye out for your needed pack straps here Mark.

                              Thanks Chris,
Appreciate that. I realize it could be a long wait though as who'd keep two straps like these with no other use than their intended purpose?
Well at least I can add to my tropical Luftwaffe mannequins
