    Luftwaffe Beobachter headlight.

    Hello,
I want to share my Observer.
He's wearing a not so often seen headlight for reading maps at night.
I don't have any information about this item nor photographic evidence.
Maybe one of you has a picture somewhere ??
I know François has another typ of this headlight...,they're very rare..
    Here it comes...

    Jos.

I see one three years ago

One friend has found one similar object to the second model, he
thinks it's a front light for german doctor (perhaps for use in campaign), so we havent think to Lw use ...
If it's for Lw you can certainly found FL number , you can see it on the first material...
I dont remenber if i have searching and see Fl number on my friend material ...
                        Best regards, Dan

                          Mine is not marked

Even if all items marked with FL # are found for flying equipment, that doesn't mean all flying equipment are marked with a FL #

On page 359 of "Uniforms & Traditions of the LW" by Angolia (Vol.3) there is exactly the 2nd model shown here described as "Pilot/observer lamp with red and clear filters and battery box"

lamp with red and clear filters for a doctor? But I can be wrong.

                          Salut et bienvenue

                            Yes

Yes i think you are right, doctor not need red light ...
and Angolia is a good source,
I don't remenber if the material from my friend
has a red light, perhaps no, what explain our error ...
                            Best regards, Dan

                              Hi François,

If I remember correctly I've seen a photograph of your lamp being used by Heeres Nachrichten in the field. Might be your model was universally used. I could try and re-find this picture, but I can't promise any thing
