I think it is good
I have seen some with similar construction over the years. I realize that there are a load of repros out there but just because something isn't textbook perfect doesn't make it bad. It is a shame that so many righteous items are classified as fakes nowadays because they don't meet all the criteria of the textbook items.

Hello all,
personally I don't like it. Although it doesn't look like the normal copies (with tjech webbing etc) some materials look strange, especially the straps.
Furthermore I have saved photo's from this specific frame on my pc in 2005, don't know how this influences this the story of the vet. Can't remember were these photo's came from, usually this forum or ebay.
Regards Peter

Hello all,
this frame leaves me cold also. For me personally, it is a "Frankenstein" of an item, pieced together.
Elements of the webbing trouble me greatly, it simply does not resemble anything i have encountered on web items from the period, be that frogs,"Y" straps, or other frames.
Regarding the "late war" proposition, materials suffered certainly, but in my collecting experience of later war items (44 and 45) workmanship was still of consistant quality..
Respectfully, not an item i would consider if offered.
Patrick.

My real question is: If Y straps made from British webbing were produced could other items have been made too? I certainly don't think the Brit webbing Y straps are production, but the majority of the readership believe they were made and worn by german troops.
Then of course theres the question of the webbing. Is it postwar Czech? Is it wartime Russian, U.S.,Brit, Italian? I certainly don't know.
