        Here is a 1940 dated example of the M39 Tornister that was used by soldiers on both sides! This was a GI vet bring-back.

              One side of the pack has an equipment strap that has been with the pack since WWII! Here is the maker mark on the equipment strap.

                  The inside of the pack (stuffed with papers to help it keep its shape). I got rid of the papers, now all my packs are filled with virgin polyfill and unbleached cotton muslin.
