                Gary,

You have an excellent collection of grenades there- very nice indeed! You mentioned 'Richard Rinker'- is that what the RR means? If so, do you know what the various numbers following it mean? I've also always been curious about the Sk. Do. II. 12 mark- do you or does anyone know what it means?

                Thanks.

                Matt

                  ebay fraudsters

Hi, First a little intro, ive just started collecting German Edelweiss patches a months back, the very first thing ive ever collected relating the german ww2, and that inspired my bro to hunt out a WW2 grenade hes always wanted , after seeing one on ebay, its price and looks, looked like (what we thought as complete newbies) the real thing. Id like to thank the guy from this forum for sharing his knowledge with him before he got well and truely ripped off! THANKS.
We now know all about this great forum, and were also pointing other bidders to it, to help police the internet and try and route out the fakers.
Ive already started a personnel website listing my collection, for collectors reference, and was hoping with your help to build a FAKE GRENADE section, if thats ok of course, so could people give me permission to use / or supply high quality images of the best condition grenades they own , ie head top shot, screw end, ceramic ball, and markings etc, and help me get a good description together on the SPOT the difference, it my way of helping others, and my bro, a quick guide.

                  Hope you can help.

                  Paul W.

                    Paul,
while I understand what you are trying to do this is risky, as quite a lot of the high end fake grenades could be altered with information like that thus creating a super fake grenade, just something for you all to think about,
                    cheers,
                    Gary
PS what is your web site address?

                        duh

mmm, didnt think of that, what ill do then is a few pages on the fakes, and leave 95% info off about real ones.

My website is now published, its has lots of work to go though.

                          Hey Gary.
Is that a smoke grenade (Nb for Nebel) ?

Thought you guys might like this interesting field modification.

I found it a couple of years ago about 1000m above sea level in the mountains. Positions there belonged to the 6 Gebirgs Division and this grenade was amongst the many things left behind after May 1945.

Hi Simon, very interesting grenade. I wonder why they did that? I had never seen one modified like that before? Thanks for posting it. I have always enjoyed reading about your discoveries in Norway.
                              Cheers, Ade.

                                Buying Grenades

Are there any dealers that specialize in grenades and similiar equipment that are recommended to buy from that are particularly trustworthy? Sort of a Bill Shea of hardware?
