For sure not - the runes and numbers show the same dimensions, depth, etc.

And why should somebody (in this case the soldier who used them) add them?

Maybe they forgot them at factory-level?

No seriously, all joking aside, I don't doubt the originality of these but try to understand why SS footgear is marked that way...were there any official production-regulations?

      Cheers

But was there footwear productions in KZ?
Well if the SS tried to produce their own clothes then the thing was with footwear also, IMO.
Have seen also a tall boots that had ss stamped in the innersole.

Very nice boots! Thank you for sharing. I've seen similar markings on the sole of officer boots.

So far I have seen / owned lots of SS-marked fieldgear, like boots, belt, spades, canteens, canteen-cups, etc. - so why not footwear, too?

IMO this is one of the many reasons why we lost the war...

              Hello
I am not too keen in the marking either.
Boots produced only for the ss came from the KZ camps and were marked SSBW
I have only seen one original pair in many years of collecting.
All other boots worn by the SS came from the same factories as the one used by the WH.
Very few pieces of fieldgears were SS marked.
              Best Regards

                Hello
Here are one mine with this marking
                inner side 4476 9
                outer side 27 6 44 5 77
                on the sole
                27
                6

The inner are italian marking and outer typical german shoes marking
I think typical italian made ankleboots but manufactured for german or under german control or repackage by german after italian surrender
Concerning the SS marking of the ankleboot I am doubtful for this
because the second number of the sole marking is missing and replaced by
                SS45
for me never seen and suspect !
                Regards
