Funny straps on a gasmask canister

I see straps with webbing like the short strap but I never have seen a long strap like this one . It look like some kind of ersatz strap or something like this.

Those straps are positively of spanish manufacture, and were used with the canisters the germans left behind in Spain and that where refurbished postwar.
You can find straps as those galore here in Spain.
