A-frame Setup

To assemble the a-frame and battle bag the battle bag is placed on the frame first with the wide tabs either around the side frames or just around the 2 leather straps and then they are buttoned. Then you take your rolled zeltbahn and place it on top of the battle bag then do up the 2 leather staps secureing the zelt onto the battle bag. Here is how I set up my A-frame/battle bag. This way the zeltbahn can be removed without the battle bag comming off it's still secured to the a-frame

As for the assualt pack I've seen them fastened as both you and I have them. I've also seen them attached directly to the A-Frame itself with the zelt and other gear overtop.

A-frame

Just so there's no missunderstanding the A-frame is one hand-made by myself, and the battlebag and zeltbahn are repros I bought. I am in no way trying to pass these off as originals but just posted to show how the gear was attached to the A-frame. These items are for my own personal use for re-enacting
