Looks like the Italian blanket ,but it could be German ,so many patterns out there !!!.

Standard German Army blanket, the kind as would have been wrapped around the Tornister, was gray with a red stripe on one side and a blue stripe on the other.

They're really hard to find and a must-have in order to complete the backpack, but strangely, when you do find one they're usually "cheap" -- around $100 to 200.

Yes, italian - No, not german - only one pattern of german army blankets.

Standard German Army blanket, the kind as would have been wrapped around the Tornister, was gray with a red stripe on one side and a blue stripe on the other.

The blanket in question is not german. German ones are simple grey, with the stripes mentioned, but without those white stripes as shown here. And german blankets are at least marked in one corner, usually "H.U." and an eagle.
