    A-frame

I have an A-frame that I picked up last week, and on further inspection, a couple things look odd. One thing is that the leather straps seem to have been riveted on backwards; i.e., the "finished" side is up, so that the "unfinished" side will be facing outwards when strapped around a zelt, for instance. The buckles on these straps also look extraordinarily large and squarish. The A-frame is marked "CWt 1942" (I think), the mess kit strap is marked "STOLLA WIEN", and one of the top rings is marked but very hard to read. "CHECHA" perhaps? Please have a look at the photos; enlightening comments welcome!

The frame looks pretty good. The straps are odd? They may be period replaced? Very unusual.

I agree with Steve. the hardware, webbing and stitching all look good to me. I think its just an uncommon looking piece. I believe it to be good. I know others will get in on this one. Kuligow... what are your thoughts? Glenn

          Hello
I think that Kuligow ,as a good point here. Everything appears textbook ,however I see the shape of the web ,which is in great condition and ,if you compare it to the leather straps ,something is wrong ,they are well used ? replaced ? maybe ,a near perfect fake ? maybe. A view of the stiffener ,will tell for sure.
          Hope this help
          Best Regards
          Pierre-Yves
