Can somebody explain to me why this type has no strap that goes through the legs and what the purpose of the snaps is ?
The upper snaps are female the lower snaps are male.
No traces of strap attachments whatsoever.

Looks like a very nice example that I cannot explain; as for the lack of replies, why be surprised? I posted my Hermann Goering Division wrapper and overseas cap, and received maybe 12 comments out of nearly 500 views!

Hello Jos,

This vest is puzzling me also. I looked in several books to find out what type of vest this is, but did not succeed. This vest looks nice. As far I can see from the photos no straps are missing. This vest is also not the type with the air bottle.

I will try to find out what type of vest this is.
