Hi Guys, I have bought this gasmaskecontainer and my first inpression was "a total fake" But I tested the paint and that turned out to be the 'good" old paint.
Who as even seen this kinda paint on a gasmaskcontainer

Hi there,

paint itself looks good, but I doubt that it is period painted. I just like the color tone.
It had to be painted and then never ever used at all. Also the painted little metall hook on the strap is untipical, at least for me.

How did you tested the paint ??

Hi Jens,
There is really not one scratch on it at all, does seems to be used a tiny bit.
I tested the paint with acceton (right spelling ?)
Only real old paint stays on, all new paint types will be rubbed off in a sec.

yes, allmost all the time this works. Is there any other way to test paint ?

All 'new paint' don't go away with Acetone.
But I didn't know another mean to make sure it's old ... only your experience ..

This color is not remotely close to the usual colors used to camo equipment in North Afrika.
Post war applied in my opinion too.
