My first gasmask

Hello. Here is my first gasmask. The canister and filter are "a bit" rusty and the rubber on the gasmask has crumbled off at some places, but I think it will do fine as a first one.

Hi again. Today i bought my second gasmask canister, and here it is. Anybody knows if the SS inscription might be authentic? The paint looks suspicious to me, also it appears that some of it is on the rust spots, but I'm not sure. I'll have to examine it later with a magnifying glass. Any opinions?

Hi Daimyo, the named paper label in the first one carries the feldpost number "13437" this was used by :

(Mobilmachung-1.1.1940) Stab II Infanterie-Regiment 236,
(28.4.1940-14.9.1940) Stab II u. 5.-8. Kompanie Infanterie-Regiment 236,
(1.8.1943-23.3.1944) 3.2.1944 Stab II u. 5.-8. Kompanie Grenadier-Regiment 236.

Hey, Adrian, a gigantic thanks for the info! It all makes sense, since the 69. Infanterie-Division was stationed in Lithuania in the middle of 1944. I actually never doubted the authencity of the paper label in the first cannister, only the SS inscription on the second one concerns me. Again, a big thanks.
