Went to a show today and found a few unexpected items.

This canteen was brought home by an Army Chaplain. The cup, cover, canteen and web straps are all dated 1942. First time I had encountered this style of canteen in the "DAK timeframe."

A web frog. Have seen only a few of these over the years....these colors.

Picked up a bundle of 8 mint Heer trop belts. They were still tied together, but I split them up and shared them with a friend. 1942 dated, maker marked and with the less common web tongues.

Werner, your is very nice. It appears to be of one color, while mine has 3 different shades of tan/brown/yellow.

here's one of my canteens similar to yours;I don't have the ones with the metal drinking cup with me at the moment...but I can post this one.Just like yours,all pieces are stamped with the same logo and dated 42 and I agree that they're not so thick on the ground!

Great finds Willi and outstanding tropical canteens
Here's my tropical canteen,matching and also dated 1942.Note the mixture of web and leather in the straps.
