    Tropical sleeping bag?

    I've seen references to a sort of tropical sleeping bag, evidently made of some sort of felt. I think it was mentioned in Dal McGuirks "Rommels Army in Afrika. Evidently it was cumbersome and difficult to haul around...but I have never seen one, even in a wartime picture. Does anyone have any information on such a rare item?
