SS Soft Cap

Hi,
Can anyone please advise me with some useful information about the soft cap attached. If it is a fake (and I know there is a great deal of fake SS stuff around) can you please explain to me why. It is in very good condition, not moth eaten or tatty, looks to have genuine age to it, and appears well made.
