I don't pretend to know significiance of the skulls or SS marks found on rifles, pistols, scopes etc.
IMO they do not marks rifles , pistols etc witch those marks.
In some books you can find photos witch markings scopes but IMO they could be post war made for many reasons.
Generaly we see Ajack 4 /90 scope, SSR 2 sniper scope mount( short) dedicated for Mauser K 98 and K98 K .
Also now SSR 2 is still made as reproduction witch beter or worst quality ( machine made or even casting)
Based on those pics they could be orginal period made (scope and mount)
But skull for me looks strange like from baroque Church.
This way those markings could be made post -war for some reasons.

Answering to your question - good?
Well just mount it on Mauser look in ocular you will see one verticale and two horizontal marks just pick a target and pull the trigger.

Of course correct me about scope and scope mount if something is wrong.
