These are highly controversial. Some say they never existed and there are some believers....
There's an old thread on these badges somewhere on the Forum. Can't find it right now.

So far I have never seen any picture from the Time, showing a member with this badge. It's a very interesting question about this badges.

Hi,

actually the vast majority of the collectors agreed on the fact that this badge was cancelled after the front page article which presented it on the June 13, 1941 issue of Storm SS, the Dutch Allgemeine-SS newspaper (see below, picture courtesy of Dutch National Archives).

You will notice that the badge was presented upside down.

It is hard to say why the badge was cancelled, but we may suspect that it was an order of Himmler.
We are also lacking info on who in The Netherlands was in charge of this project.
It seemed that the planned badges were more related to the age of the owner, than to real sporting competitions like for the Germanische Leistungsrune.
Was the award of too low fame for Himmler ?

At least one booklet for the badge, previously owned by Gaston and sold recently by Dutchmilitaria, existed, which imply that the project was quite advanced before it was cancelled.

If a booklet exist, there is no proof that a single prototype was made.
We are missing any info on a period metal badge, and all the badges on the market are obviously of average/not very good quality, which would have been a problem for Himmler in my opinion.
For sure the badge and the booklet were never awarded.

2 years later, the Germanische Leistungsrune will be created for the Waffen-SS, and will be awarded to Foreign and German volunteers.
Again, it is not known why it took so much time to create this sport badge.

To conclude, all the metal badges should be taken as post-war recreation of the pictures presented in the Storm SS and the original booklet front pages.

in my opinion, the "N.S.B." marking alone is good to dismiss any of those metal badges as fantasy ones...
The Dutch Allgemeine-SS was created to syphon the NSB of all his young members, and to promote the enlistment in the German (then Dutch) Waffen-SS units in the Netherlands or in the Eastern front.
The NSB already had his own sport badge, it is impossible that Himmler - who hated Mussert - would accept that a local SS sport badge had anything to do with the NSB.
