    Bullion Embroidered Totenkopf ?

Hello all, A young friend had this piece and asked me about it. I told him good chance it is not an original, but he believes it is.
Got any feedback and can send him? He is not a member of the WAF.
    Thanks

The construction looks really good and is similar to other German period badges I have seen and have had. I'd be interested to hear from the SS experts.

Not something he wants to have in his collection.

Usually when you see a bullion skull, that has been used on a cap, it has been cut down from a collar tab. The one pictured is not a collar tab cut down. I am not aware of any cap specific bullion skulls made by the Germans. Not one I would keep.

Thanks Paul. He is young and probably just got his first lesson in collecting SS items ! Something most all of us have gone through.

You don't need to be an expert to see that's a really poor fake.
