Strange uniforms - SS or Luftwaffe?

came across this strange photo today....The man on the left seems to wear a SS belt and LW helmet?


Any chance to identify the unit? LW? SS ? Ostfreiwillige?

Probably some Eastern auxiliary volunteer unit, as you say LW helmet, SS buckle, LW Flieger blouse. Old rifles and single ammo pouch.

I would tend to agree. They are guards of some kind. Note the "Wach-..." on the armband.

Non regulation scarf and is the chap on the right wearing a camo shirt or is it an unusual pattern civie shirt?

I’d agree with the above although I thought volksturm at first.

Shirt of a civil sample. And on a photo most likely auxiliary forces of national divisions ss from the Baltics.
