NCO boards

I picked these up from a friend at the show of shows. I thought they were SS recon, with tropical piping. Am I right? Do they seem ok?

The one thing that is an immediate turn-off to me is the shape of the tongue and ill-fitting cotton-twill used as the tongue lining/reinforcement. Even though the earlier W-SS straps did use the Heer, LW, and KM shape on their tongues, these look really funky.

Why W-SS though? In this configuration they could just as easily be Heer mechanized Cav or armored recon.

I'm with Chahler though, based on these pics I'm not a fan.

Ok Thanks good points, I thought they might be heer Pz AufK Cav at first, but with the all black bottoms I was then unsure. Although I do consider myself a "cloth guy" boards are study unto themselves! I did think these had a pretty good lineage, but I will check back with my friend. The underside does have a few moth nips, but I know you can't ask the moths...
