I'd only heard of it from a pal so asked for photos and I (who know nothing about these) had my doubts from the first pic.

So I can report back to him with something more than "it's a fake" is there a faker attributable to this particular ring - it sounds like a known fake recipient.

Also is there a reference photo of a genuine citation so I can say where the errors lie - or is this an area where "don't give help to forgers" applies. In which case a simple list of errors would suffice.

No subterfuge anywhere in this request, I just want to put the facts straight.

Hi,

Thanks for the link Christian - I've been reading the recent threads on this topic and rather than wanting to know what makes a real one I'd just like to know some history behind what seems to be a well-known fake to pass on to this ring's owner.

Also what is wrong with the citation?

I have no personal interest in this ring, I'd just like to impart the info. To my eye the engraving inside the ring seems very wrong for starters.

There should be no initial for the 'given' or 'Christian' name, just the family name after the 'Slb'. That's an immediate
