    Strange Plate on Ebay

    I put my money on that this is a copy, first sign is that the s:es in HEISST is written with SS and not B. there is more....

        Hi...Im not very bright in this SS business..what you mean by SS instead of B??
        Heisst is written correct imo or do you mean soming else??

          Hi Andreas, I think Schönbeck means that the German script style way of writing an S in more usually seen; this looks to non Germans like a letter "B".

                If you use only "large" letters like ABCDEFG etc. then you don't use the " ß " but SS. If the letters are "small" like abcdefg etc. then you use " ß " in "heißt".

                That means HEISST can be accepted if it is heißt then it goes with an " ß ". got it??? Furthermore you can't compaire the pre 45 writings with the todays writings as they changed things like "muß" which is now "muss" etc. etc. etc. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.......confusing isn't it!?
