The 'D' 275 tag would be correct but I like the inside far more than the outside.

                Hello Ian,

So the tag is genuine and correct ? Yes much better condition on the inside than the outside, do you think it’s a genuine item?

Here is mine to compare too , the red material looks different to me, but like I say I am not an expert. All I can say is based on your photos I wouldn't buy it.

Personally I'd wait for a classic condition original as shown above. They are common and quite cheap.

I guess it depends on your definition of cheap.....lol , but yes I've seen quite a few for sale in the $450 to $550 USD range.

I know this one is beat up, salty etc whatever you want to call it... but I would just like to know if it can be called genuine/good etc despite of its condition... a friend of mine sent me the photos of it and it is on offer at a steal, if it is genuine

                          Welsh RS,

Thank you for the improved pictures. I guess I should never criticize someone else's photographic skills or give advice. Mine skills are only fair at best. However, it is always desirable to include pictures taken in natural light (sunlight, if possible) and with the line of sight perpendicular to the object. This helps minimizes distortions.

I got my 275 out and the construction details are identical to the one posted by coogan. I also agree with his price range. It is a realistic market price, not the mythical collector to collector price normally quoted on WAF.

My tag is an earlier 196XXX tag, so it is possible that the manufacturer changed construction techniques and that the acceptable quality degenerated to where this sloppy construction met RZM approval. I will commit forum heresy and suggest the item's providence must play an important part in your decision. If iron clad, consider buying it and add it to your collection as a variation. If sketchy, pass on it.

                          Al

                            Hello Al,

Thanks for your detailed reply.. I haven’t taken these photos they were sent by a friend of mine. I always find it difficult to explain I need the best photos possible etc etc to determine or get opinions on the items..

This one isn’t for me, but I wanted to post it up as I said for a friend of mine to give him as much info as possible so he can make an informed decision...
