    Wallonien Bevo

    Hello to all,

The appearance of two rare band Wallonien, model Bevo, on the market, urged me to make a fast research on this forum.

I found two bands of the same type (collection Luc and Greg) but these present a light difference, reason of this article and my question : model of very rare band but two types, why ?

Here are the images to illustrate my subject :

First of all an image of the band sold by Hannahsreich then an image of the band sold by Weitze.

Here is now both bands of our friends collectors, Luc and Greg.

I simply resumed the images presented by these collectors on the forum, I hope that they will see no inconvenience there.

By examining these four bands, I noticed an important difference at the level of the base of the letter W. On the bands of Luc and Greg, the base of the letter W is sharp, to see joined images.

On two new bands bet on sale, the base of W is flat or smooths, as W bands Westland or Horst Wessel, to see joined images.

Reason of my question : why this difference for bands made at the end of war, two different series ?

I would be interested to hear your notices on this subject. Cordial greetings.

            Hi,

i can also be two different locations of production, or two different periods (late war and "late" late war).

The "Wallonien" with the cut bottom is similar to the "Das Reich" late variant and a few other models.

            See You

                  Hello,

                  Thank you for your reactions.

It is important to specify that for me, these two types of bands present both, the characteristics of bands original Bevo. It was important to indicate it.

Christian J : Can you describe the importance of this lot, variety of bands ?

                  Cordial greetings.

By the way. Weitze´s Wallonien seems to be made by the same company, as Bob Hritz´ Charlemagne, would´t you say?

This type of the Wallonien cuff bands is imo the same like the one of the recently discovered Das Reich cuffs.
