    bullion Germania officer cuff title

    Hello all,

I recently picked up this cuff title for my personal collection and wanted to see if there were any similar. This one vaguely reminds me of this Latin script Der Führer cuff title I acquired some time back as well:

While the capture papers do not individually itemize the insignia, this is the provenance that accompanied the cuff.

and furthermore, while I have you here I have another question.

I also have this flatwire Officer's cuff with silk borders here in my collection. It is my understanding that this is an earlier type. Can anyone provide a ballpark figure on when this would date? Maybe 1936 roughly, does that sound about right?

                Beautiful cuffs William
The Standarte received the title of "Germania"
September 1936, so the cuff presentation would
                coincide with this time.

                  Insignia

                  Both cuffs are original.

Very very nice, the 1st Germania is a rare version hard to find.

I like the bullion cuff title! Of course the flatwire is a very nice one too. I got the version with metal borders myself.

Gothic script was officially changed to latin script in December 1939. Therefore the cuff title was made after that date. If there is any trace of a RZM tag it means its made before or around the end 1942. After that its nearly impossible to date. Perhaps high quality can be an indicator that its an earlier one rather than later.

                        Cheers

okay that helps a lot actually, thank you.

I appreciate everyone's feedback thus far. I really like the fact that the bullion example is still sewn together.

The bullion is the best Germania I have seen so far for my taste.
