Pls compare patina on those skulls from link to this Latvian zink skull patina.
Exactly same type of natural patin.
Also same type was on this two relics skulls (one on pics and one on link)
It is not possible to make such type of patina in not natural way (long time)
    Peter
P.S This Latvian zink skull exist in one example.
All Latvian skulls vere made from Alu.
But if someone have zink one pls let me know

My last word about those three prongs skullss.
They are for sure not cast made.
      All of them are stamped.
      It is plane to see.
Here is a mis struck example

i have been collecting for 27 yrs. i used to get manions catalogs before internet. never seen one of these skulls in their offerings back then. these started showing up about 16 yrs ago. they could be original found ........but i just stay away from them. there are more better quality and well known examples to collect...like deschlers ..

Anyone who truly believes in these, would pay at least $150.00 for one.
How many of you are willing to do that? Well, I think that I rest my case, as we all know that no one would pay much of anything for these, other than maybe $15.00.
Their horrible attempt to look like an Assmann skull is disappointing, IMO.

I don't know if these skulls are real or fake. That's why I posted it. However the statement that these skulls started showing about 16 years ago is incorrect. As I said before I got my skull from a vet in 1966.That was 51 years ago.

They were proven of French wartime origin if I'm not mistaking?

              Kind regards,

The only visor caps that have shown up with this insignia have been fakes.

These pieces are part of an accumulation of objects that a Veteran was in the 2nd Infantry Div 9th Regiment, I Company, was releasing from the bad guys captured.
Bought to the family of this by the member who shows them nickname m16fan

In this link you can see more of the other objects that were brought home
                  Http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/ss-uni...w-more-662308/

It would be very rare for the three prong skull to be the only false object of all these objects

Apart from this and the good reasons given here in this thread as to its originality I hope are a little help bring the three prongs skull next to the road of authenticity.

No offense, but many Vets have fakes that they claim are bring back items and many Vets lie about their service records. This is not even counting the old men who lie about serving in the military all together. Unless you see their DD214 everything your told has to be taken with a grain of salt.

Peter, I think that the word you used is spelled "ain't", as in: "There ain't no originals here.", which I must strongly disagree, as there are many.

From memory, wasn't there another thread on these skulls a few years ago & someone posted a period pic showing the very distinctive 3 prong skull on a cap.
This brought a lot of people sitting on the fence about these skulls on the side of them being genuine.

In my opinion (& it's certainly not scientific) ... I like them & I can see the need to simplify production techniques (as was done with some cap eagles) to use prongs instead of pins late on in the war.

Maybe we will have to wait for more definitive proof of their originality, in the meantime if anyone wishes to part with their examples for $15 I will gladly take them
