It's getting interesting if the tunic matches the time frame. Is it for sure a legit rune tab?
I have already doubts as a one looker doesn't need a question.

The LAH from ratisbons was sold for less then 10k! But anyhow some items sold as a bargain as well but someone bid me out on the Allach Reh...

David, the loose example you have shown from your collection is a fine original showing perfect alignment of the runes whereas the tunic mounted example is noticeably misaligned and not one I would want to accept as an authentic period example. However, I am always willing to keep an open mind on the possibility of a variant if solid evidence is presented.

On a side note, the sleeve eagle does appear to be authentic. Still would like to see the entire tunic though.

Thank you for your reply ...
I did think it was because of the colouring and therefore wanted to hear your views
          Regards David

PS Yes it would be good to see the rest of the tunic

The material is more like a police uniform material, a bit blue-ish. (the soldier was with the Rasse und Siedllungs Hauptamt). The back of the collar looks rather "floppy" made.

I have just noticed that the runic tab is on doe-skin too and looks as if it has always been on that tunic by the way it has sank into the cloth over the years
Yes I would love to have the runic in my collection
                            A very pretty tunic indeed

Do you see a discoloration under the pocket flaps?

For me only hands on before to judge such a tunic.
Pending as well what's the story behind it.

If this Untersturmfuhrer came from the Rasse und Siedllungs Hauptamt, (gray nebenfarbe shoulderboards), a desk jockey...
that German Cross in Gold combat badge was probably added...It does not match the wear of the tunic either...
The tunic does have a lot of medal loops for the lowest ranking officer grade, meaning perhaps a well decorated combat vet?
who got wounded and became a pencil pusher, a transfer from a fighting Division?

Interesting the Polizei wool used. Not unheard of and actually matches the visor!
I would have liked it even better if the collar had come with silver edge piping!
