SS ZELTBAHN - Your opinions please

    Gents,

I present you my new exhibit, nice Waffen SS zeltbahn. Fabric is good, button holes properly embroidered.
I'd like to hear your opinions.

            Gents,

thank you for your review, and positive Id for my zeltbahn.

Please let me know, how could I price such zeltbahn if I was interested to sell it?

To Nick: Thank you for your opinion. As you see, I've got another nice item. I agree with you, that some of buttons are restored, but I will be completely sure of it, when I get this zeltbahn from the shop from which I have bought it. I always feel a bit anxious waiting for exhibits..

                Sorry guys,
I take the occasion for a question:
Are you able to tell me an average weight of SS zeltbahns ?
Are there different weights from earlier and later SS zeltbahns?

                Many thanks!

That is a tricky question, the early Zelts have a different cloth than the latest one, you would also clean the zelts before comparing. Personally, I think the weight is nearly the same. Anyway - no way to differ a fake from original.

                    It's such a weird question

Why not weigh your oak and tell us how heavy it is

I am 100% sure it's going to be ground breaking information.

Hi Kammo man, but that's not my question. I'm not going to weigh my oak zeltbahn. I just wanted to post it for review

Thanks Tom, this is a clever answer. My wonder was exactly because I think that during the production's years cloth thickness changed, so even the weight.
I have never investigated on the difference between originals and fakes.

Anyway I think my question might be an help for fakers.
So please noone post the weight of originals

On the contrary, it would be interesting to know the weight of fakes Zelts.

Weight wont tell much at all; there are no really good fake zelts anyways.

Zeltbahn displayed on mannequin of Polish Home Army soldier. Warsaw Uprising period. Apparently to the profile of my collection.
