Hit them with UV light though because that fluffy piping could be a sign that all isn't well.

Doubtful. .. but the construction and braid material is well done..

IMO not original.

I examined them, in my hands, and find them to be original. Piping varies, just like the piping on visor hats. This type of wool piping is not the most common, but they would be far less fuzzy if they had been worn and used. The construction is spot on with other originals and I cannot find any fault in this pair. Examine the weave of the wool piping and you will see that it exactly matches the weave of wool that has lost its nap from being worn or cleaned.
