A typical casting, IMO. Should not have round prongs and the die flaw is missing on the "1", (no lower tail flaw). The teeth and other details also show that it is cast.

I am with SSCollector. Cast fake. Wrong round prongs aswell.

The skull looks used (patina) which would say that it was on a visor once...
but then why ain't the prongs bended which would be logic. (red flag)

I saw the skull for sale on Trave Militaria and asked around at some TK-collectors that I know. They all concluded the same. Cast fake.

              Thank you everyone.

              I think I get it.

Because it had made by cast, the junction of the pins also had unified?
So, when hole for fitting them, two portions were penetrated?

,,I'll admit also, I was a little too quick on my acceptance trigger
on second look, appears someone worked hard to make this thing look 70+ years old

                cheers,

I saw this fake cast skull aswell at TraveMilitaria.
Nothing real on this one. I showed this TK to couple of TK-collectors that I know and they all said the same. Cast fake...

The thing looks like it has patina and loss of silver finish due time.
Logically from being on a visor but why ain't the prongs bend then????

                      Just a logical observation.

Prowler Im also considering your opinion.
It is posible you are right.
Based on the pics is hard to determine.Im still have mixed feelings about this skull.
Prongs for sure are replaced and wrong shape.
But the rest looks not bad.
Skulls witch cone type attachments had very often thicker walls.
                          Summary you could have right
