You believe that for a certain reason. Honestly, I did not come here in order to help you.

          Hi Tom,

Would be interesting seeing a cover from Norway who have provenance since a very long time (say from the 1970´s) with the diagonal cut.

          Can you provide one?

          Best

The facts are as hard as they can be. Granted, they are also a bit hard to understand. Try to understand the problem, it will be worth it.

              Peter,
nice this drow, maybe is better you read again the thread and loock at the pictures of original covers I posted (not mine) with the texture run diagonally, this theory is a BS, simple a Virtualphobya.
Maybe you can provide to the people interested an original document WW2 with the instruction how must be cut the covers?

[QUOTE=Peter v L;7260277]Here is a posting regarding to the items I have posted
              _________________

This is to explain the problem a bit better. Think of this as a piece of fabric in a wartime factory. The section in the circle is the texture of the fabric or the way the "weave flows".

Section A shows how the material would have been cut correctly. Section B the incorrect way in which the italian covers were cut.

NOTE: Many of the italian covers show an incorrect cut only in the centre section, or the spring tunnels or side section or front rim, sleeve. Others in a combination of parts.

An original wartime cover will NOT - in no part!

Interesting you lost your archives but remember also what I offered your 10 years ago, this clearly is not a technical thread, but a personal attack.
If you are exploring your archives, take a loock at some remade M43/42 and SS Panzer wrapper I saw for sell over the years on your website...people are not stupid Peter.
I read some threads in the past about your website...

                Moderator, can I write this?

Let us see if more examples can be posted as I for one am quite interested (knowing of several autumn 'oak A' wraparounds from this source).

I advice everyone to look at original covers and caps. Not the small pictures posted by Lorenzo.

You must look at the whole cover as spring tunnels for instance were sewn on very sloppy at times.

Lorenzo: Care to show us an original cap with the incorrect cut top section for instance? Or a spring tunnel cut such as yours?

                    Cheers

It is not as this is not the same case as with yours!

Care to post pics of originals such as I asked for? Should be no problem as there are so many out there?

Seams you really do not understand, I posted clearly pictures of Prewar , war time and Later war helmet covers with the texture running diagonally, I also posted one cover of the Horsetrainer batch, if you loocking at one of the first posts of this member, you will found pictures of the entire cover, I posted the detail, for sure.
The others helmet covers, will be published in all details on my books...so I dont want to post anything here to teach you.
You are inventing your rules of manifacture, but only where you want.
