I am not comfortable with what these are supposed to be.
My belief is these are Bahnschutz eagles and not SS

Isn't there a really really dark blue one and a black one? Is there a good older thread to read about this only? I have seen and wondered too! Anybody got an old thread on these?

Thank you for the link.
But for me you cant tell exactly what this is but it certain isn't on a dark backing
It certainly looks more like a brown to me.
I still believe the eagle that started this thread is Bahnschutz

I am going to show my collection of what I believe are early SS sleeve eagles
The first one is on a field/grey-green backing not in good condition but beggars cant be choosers in this hobby.

Lastly one with what appears is black backing which I have to admit I'm NOT entirely comfortable with ...
My reason for this is that the black one is much bigger in length as is the Bahnshutz eagles compared to my green and brown eagles
What do you gentlemen feel about my black eagle opinions welcome ?
