Germans used glass for buttons on tropical uniforms as well. Regarding the rank tab in this thread, I consider it an "SS bonus" that the pips are likely this glass type.

Nice tabs! Litzen looks a bit diffrent but OK to me, or? What about the straps, SS or Wehrmacht panzer?
