I placed an ad in a local newspaper advertising for military items and was contacted by a collector who bought many items from Mohawk Arms in the last ten to fifteen years. Three of the items he showed me were questionable, including an SA kepi, single decal SS M-40 helmet, and this SS officer's visor cap.
I am not an expert on SS headgear, but strongly feel the SS officer's visor cap is not original and is perhaps one of the examples made from original parts in the 1960s (by Angolia I believe). I would like to hear everyone's opinions on this cap, including the insignia. The collector I met said he received a letter of authenticity from Mohawk Arms guaranteeing the cap to be original and that his money would be refunded if it wasn't. I'd like to see this collector get his money back if the cap is not original, especially because he has hit on some hard times.
