    Small pea dot pattern

    Hello!

Some collectors are stateing that there are 2 types of SS erbs (pea) pattern, the "normal"/known pattern and a variation with smaller peas.

I wonder if such a smaller pea pattern is proven to exist, if someone have a photo of a authentic small pattern piece or a small pea pattern piece in combat, I would be glad to see it.

    Can anyone help?

    Best Regards

Janke 44 Dot pattern suits are known to have small dots ....
with only 2 greens but these aren't original

So, no original example is known with small dots? Therefore a small dot variation did never exist?

This one has 3 green shades inspite of 2 from the previous jacket?

The reason being its a late Janke Item as apposed to my early one
                    He rectified his mistake ...

I had an early Janke (ate least early by my standards) from 1986. It was the four pocket variety, also 2 greens, but was interesting in that it was in the Polizei cut, with pleated pockets. I dont remember if the flaps were scalloped, I dont think so. His early stuff fooled a lot of people. I bought mine from New Columbia, who carried his line back in the day, and purchased small scrap materials from every vendor I could selling dot, turned out to be an exceptional learning tool. I sold it to a dealer AS A REPRO. I marked it in the interior in a special place. Unfortunately, a decade or more later it wound up in a very high end SS collection, but badged up with good insignia. There were enough tells in the piece without the marking that the jacket should not have fooled anyone who took the time to study them.

How these Janke jackets feel? Is the hbt used close to a real dot M-44? Or do the Janke fakes feel different from the real tunics?
Is it easy to recognize the janke fakes by the feeling?

                        Best Regards

Janke products felt too smooth/nice compared to originals, easy to tell. I have heard s and m dot feels closest to originals. I'd like to own one of the sets they did for fury, they look well done to me. I know they are not original, but today a nice unissued set pants jacket will cost you 9k plus, for 500 the s and m set is quite representative.
