Yes indeed no doubt all from same guy!
My guess: first Alg.SS, later W-SS soldier - NCO, later promoted to officer... Deutschland Regiment, Bad Tolz officers training and Polizei Division service (as an Artillery officer).
Besides the lighter green backed Polizei Division tab (here with red farbe inserts unique to this Division) they also wore standard Heer M36 officer litzen on darker green backing, as shown in the group (all red artillery farbe!).
This is certainly not a mixed Heer-SS group, it's Waffen SS + Polizei Div. career lot from 1 soldier, which also explains the presence of SS breast flashes insignia,
denoting in this case an SS member (officer) serving in the Polizei Division, which initially had mostly police troops, only later becoming a full-fledged W-SS Division,
but it's cadre came from Waffen SS as this officer probably did (serving in Deutschland Reg initially, hence the early pointy "D" shoulderstraps).
His time-line, career path and promotions can be decyphered by these pieces
Am I correct? Since you have documentation too! Rank "Oberleutnant" it reads another clue! (=mPolizei Div 1942) when they were not yet using SS ranks... Feld post numbers match that? To me no doubt Artillery Regiment of the Polizei Division as latest unit ! but no Polizei Div. cuff title in the lot...
Some of the components shown reminds me of this uniform (Polizei Division artillery officer)

Wow, detailed info on the history or possible history of this soldier, thanks a lot for sharing, Nick.
I'd prefer the group to remain together as a lot, yes.
I just did a search for EUGEN ZINK and got several hits for the CO of SS Artillery Regiment 27 (II. Abteilung), listed as HauptSturmfuehrer. Looks like a match. Unfortunately, Google didn't bless me with the career details...
Thanks for all the nice comments, and as the weekend is near, I would be able to provide daylight pix of any of the items if you need (for your database or in order to question them), just let me know!
Cheers
Rainer

It is very possible. Officers jumped around. All his insignia in this group came from earlier assignments (1930's-1942), Alg.SS, Deutschland standarte 1 (SS-VT )and when the war broke out Polizei Div as an officer! (early Bad Tolz Lehrgang no doubt!)
Btw his artillery red piped SS-Hauptscharfuhrer (NCO) rank strap is no doubt from his Fuhrer-Lehrgang (officer training) period at Bad Tolz, an SS-Junker (officer candidate period!)
You can decypher a lot from such groups. Too bad his entire career is not covered here but 1930's through 1942 is! A Langemarck Cuff Title and Hauptsturmfuhrer rank would have completed his career if it is the same officer.
The group lacks a SS Polizei division cuff title, which is accurate since in the period (1942 and before) CT's were not issued yet, only after the 4th Division became a full fledged SS Div with SS rank titles and tabs, were SS-Polizei cufftitles worn, so it shouldn't appear in the group! He was an early member of that unit!
I agree don't break it up, (or at least keep 1 Deutschland Standarte SS-VT cuff title), as its a snap-shot of a military man's career!Last edited by NickG; 12-04-2014, 11:38 PM.
