SS Officers Sleeve Eagle

I have had this officers sleeve eagle for yonks
Its not in the best condition but it has all the markings of an original even though its not a standard issue.
But is it original and what do you think ... ?

The longest bullion wing tips measure 31/2 long
Its not the largest eagle I have seen but it seems to big to be a cap eagle
But hey ...

John Pic is the man on these but I have done some research. I would be careful with the non standard eagles unless you know/have proof of where they came from. I just don't have the kind of money to be wrong, so I bet on the sure things.

That being said, this eagle scares me. The swas is fat only in the middle, not throughout. Also the wings are short, and just not as well formed as I would like to see for a high end private purchase.

I totally agree with you Jeff ....
It seems we are in the same boat on this one
But when all said and done it has as I have stated all the characteristics of how you would expect to see on an original including the card board template etc

Maybe original but definitely foreign made possibly Italian made.
