Again, I'm no expert, but I agree with Ron and Paul...I've seen the best results come when folks give as much info as possible about their artifacts...but if Mr. Boyle has seen it and it has been certified as authentic, then you have some good news...

I think the experts would probably need to know the name inside, it's hard to read from the pics, hence the need for really detailed pics. The name of the person can make a difference, cjam- a high ranking or notorious ss member could be significant when assessing its value beyond its authenticity and quality.

I see in your post the title "Limbart" ring...i couldn't make out the inscription, it looked almost like "Limburt" to me, but just guessing. If it's any help I know there was an ss man named Erwin Lambert who was a builder of gas chambers, notorious in his own right.

Hi, The ring bearers name was most definitely Untersturmführer Limbart,Carl
I had Westmorland research digitally send me his RuSHA, and SSOA file. he is also on the 1937 Dienstaltersliste list. Im not sure if Erwin Lambert was awarded a ring or not.

Just a suggestion concerning your thread post about your ring. Ring forum members are more receptive to provide help/info to threads/request when post are more forth coming and don't appear to be deceptive or secretive. If you have the ring in hand and documented COA from Don, just post clear close up pics of it. Ring forum members would like to see.If on the other hand, you are looking for a potential buy and need advice, then clear close up pics and info is required. If you search throught the HR threads , you will see where some folks just post a couple of quick out of focus pics and vague info and nothing gets accomplished other than members being hesitant about helping. I can't top what Ron said, in fact "ditto." If it's any help, I've only found other collectors and experts helpful, they have no ulterior motives as it pertains to the examination of rings...they have no dogs in the fight except the preservation and study of these fascinating objects...no one wants to devalue or discredit an authentic find. (It's history not money that is being evaluated). That being said, now in the era of the so called "super fakes" it's harder and harder to preserve the authentic without serious study, and as a new collector I am saddened to see some of these good peoples life's work and collecting/collections dishonored in that petty profit centered way. These rings were never to be bought or sold to begin with. Death or dishonor brought the end of its life on an ss mans finger. Truly amazing, really.

As i initially wrote " I picked this up about a month ago....thoughts" my intent was not to be deceptive. I never asked help to establish its authenticity, I was only sharing the photo to add to the thread and expecting fellow collectors to make a few comments.
I never claimed to be professional photographer but in a few photos I focused on the outside and i believe you can see it pretty well, and the other photos I focused in the inside name and date and that is clearly shown.

I think what bothered me is I was just sharing a few photos, and you wanted more and then you said they were actually worse and that the ring had potential and now knowing that you own a 1934 Honor ring and I a 1937, you should have been able to have a good idea when you see one, not that I was asking because D.B. wouldn't authenticate a ring online I had to mail it to him

That does clear things up. I did say it had potential. I was merely asking for clear pics for the forum members benefit. The initial post did appear to ask for authenication and and that was not 100 % possible with posted pics.
I can't take pics either so the better ones yo can get always help.
As you have read teh foum, HR's are very controversial and when good ones are obtain, that is what the forum needs to see.

Did you read what I posted to tanker? I explained that it wasnt my intent to be deceptive or as you say " secretive ".

I apologize for that choice of words. It was unfair to imply there was any agenda on your part. However, you invited comments, and my comment is that we'd like to see closeups of ALL of the inside engraving. What value do our comments have if we can't see the whole thing? Most people are anxious to show their artifacts, and reluctance to do so, automatically makes people want to know why. The ring appears to be authentic, but if our comments are based on limited information, they are essentially worthless.
