Tooling I'd say. Not accusing the present owner by any means.

I've known Andy ,aka military nut ,for years and he's truly the salt of the earth and honest as the day is long. I agree his posts aren't the easiest to read but you can believe what he puts in them as he's been colecting and studying TK Rings for as long as anyone I know.
I am positive Gaspare and others will concur on this.

        Ring

It'd be interesting to see photos of it when it was more worn. It's definitely been polished, but if it was re-tooled, it wans't that much, it seems. If you want to see some serious re-tooling, check out the Ebeling TK Ring. Warning: Not for the squeamish!!

One of the big problems in this hobby, is there are not more guys like Andy in it.

If Don has seen these rings or lettered them, he retains pictures of all the rings he has lettered to protect himself. Ron

I'm glad to see so many members support Andy, and I'm not surprised. I met him only once at the max last month, and I doubt he remembers me- but I did buy a book from him, and he introduced me to Gaspare- for which I'm ever thankful. Mr. Boyle and Andy are true gentlemen, and made my first experience in the hobby awesome. I hope most folks in the hobby are like Andy, but I imagine he's a one of a kind in his own right. Nice to meet you all,
                    Mike
